Sykler hele Norge for kreftsyke i Litauen

Since the beginning of the bike ride, people have donated 6728,03 Lt (updated on Nov. 8, 2012).

On the 14th of October, a charity campaign "Play Beauty Parlor", inspired by the bike ride across Norway, took place in Oslo. People who wanted to participate in the campaign, were asked to donate a minimum of 200 Norwegian krones for the Childhood Cancer Fund "Rugute". All the participants of the campaign got their hair and make ups done and their photographs taken by a talented photographer. During this campaign, a total amount of 1753 Lt was raised. We thank the author of the campaign, the stylists, the photographer, the ladies' club "Viola" and all the ladies who attended the beauty parlor.
Since the beginning of the bike ride, people have donated 5638,18 Lt (updated on Oct. 18, 2012).

I want to thank all the people who read my posts, who supported me and who donated money for this cause. I believe that we will meet again in my future trips.
During the campain Biking Norway for Rugute 2012, the kind people donated 4716,29 Lt (~1365.93 EUR).

Oslo! 2303 km.

Greetings from Minnesund! I dried frost from my tent in the morning and rode from the beginning to the end of Mjøsa (Norway's largest lake). I've got some more km to make.

Greetings from the crossroad! I'm close to Lillehammer and I'm deciding which road to take next. I started from 12% uphill this morning, reached 1060 m height in the daytime and in the evening - E6 detours that go up-down and sometimes there's only a bumpy dirt road...

After long doubting which road to take, I chose E6, till I reached the highest spot - 1026 m. Then I took 29th and 27th roads. I'm in Enden, close to snowy mountain tops.

Even though I was afraid I wouldn't find a way after Trondheim, it turned out that there is a bike route (gravel sometimes). So I found the route, or to be precise, the route found me. I'm at Halland camping, drying soppy things, that are still wet even though it's sunny today.

Greetings from Vanvikan! Today's menu: long and slow ups, short and rare downs. On the other side of a fjord - the lights of Tronheim. We're sailing there tomorrow.

Greetings from Steinkjer! The weather changed from a storm to clear skies and back. Same thing happened at day: rain, no rain, rain again. However, we met a lot of good people today.

The sky was threatening rain all day long and finally we got into a leaky cloud for the last 10 km. We are in Grong, at the playground, under the slide.

Greetings from Majavatn! It was pouring all day and the wind was blowing all directions, except the one I needed. Nevertheless, we got over a 375 m height hill.

3 things have changed since I moved to this side of polar circle: the trees are still green, it's much warmer and the road is almost flat. I even started doubting if I'm still in Norway... I'll spend the night next to the raspberry-cane.

We reached the height of 692 m this morning, and reached the pollar circle not far from there. Then we caught back wind, rode down and got to sea level. We left Mo i Rana behind us and we'll spend the night in Yettervik, at fjordside.

Between Fauske and Rognan - mountains and tunnels, the grand climb has started outside Rognan. I'm at 600 m heigh, tomorrow I'll mount up even higher and finally reach the polar circle :)

Greetings from Fauske! Today I got through 10 tunnels and two hills with 7-10% uphills and slopes :)

I've been cycling a side of accordion's bellows today: up-down-up... Snowy mountaintops all around me, just in touch of a hand. The highest spot tady - 370 m. Half of the difficult Bognes-Fauske track is already done :)

Greetings from Storjord! Today I biked 92km. Sounds crazy, but in this tiny villagy, where only 40 people are living, I found couple of them from my home country :) It finally stopped raining today. I did couple of hills with 8-9% ascent and descent, there are some similar hills waiting for me in the next two days as well... The coolest place is in Skarberget - E6 just ends there in the water. At the moment I`ve reached the coast - the ferry arrived and brought me to Bognes, where E6 continues. I also crossed one fjord by "jumping" from one island to the other, 3 islands in total :)

Sounds unbelievable, but today I reached Narvik! I'm staying here for the night. Rain has been pouring all day long and it has almost stopped only now. We rolled over one more mountain - 25 km uphill and 5 km slope:)

It's raining all day. So be it, untill it's not windy :) I stopped over at Fossing camping cabin with a roof and 4 walls :) It took one hour to hang all my things so that they would get dry.

Day 8. 81 km cycled. We took a ferry from Olderdalen to get to Lyngseidet and then turned South down the road 868. I am somewhere between Nordkjosbotn and Storsteinnes. Today we've been riding flatland, tomorrow mountains are waiting again. There's no wind, but it's been raining all day long and it seems to be rainy tomorrow...

Greetings from Olderdalen. Finally, first day without wind. I also conquered two mountains today: one of them is 402 m, another - more than 200 m height. The weather is quite nice, there was some light rain in the afternoon. On the other side of the fjord there are high mountains and icebergs between them, the view is really beautiful :)

The front wind came back... Despite that, we conquered few hills (the highest one is 270 m). We left one higher hill for tomorrow.

So, Alta is reached and the endless fields of nothingness are behind me. First day without the wind and the sun appeared few hours ago :) 200km and 3 towns on the way, one of it has only 20 houses...

Greetings from Talvik! Once we reached Alta the drizzle stopped and it was sunny on the way to Talvik. When it's not windy, the hills don't look so big anymore.

Very strong front wind the whole day, accompanied by rain in the afternoon. 50 km left to Alta.

Greetings from Olderfjord, the first town from Honningsvåg. It's sunny today, but very windy. I had to fight the front wind the whole day (except 6 km). Cycling strenuously, however my speed does not exceed 4.8 km/h... Well, I hope sooner or later the wind will change direction.

Four of us cyclers left Nordkapp. The side-wind was very strong, so one of us lost control going down a slope. Due to helping our friend we had to adjust today's plan, but Sven is ok, he stayed in Honningsvåg, and we moved forward. We got through the scary tunnel of Nordkapp and stopped 40 km away from Honningsvåg for a night. A fox is sneeking around and Tulku is trying to drive it away :)

Best regards from Nordkapp. The first mountain has been conquered, the first flock of deers has been scared away and the first slope has already been tried (45km/h). Before I came to Nordkapp, the sky got cleared and the sun appeared from behind the clouds. Back wind is pushing me forward. The beginning seems to be fine, even though it's not very easy. Wish me good luck and let's travel forward!
